i can't seem to find any words to describe my 2010. so many things happened this year, ups and downs everywhere, and i've changed pretty much. i've changed, but i'm still the same, get it? i'm still the same old cixian that people know, but that's if you really know me.
well let's recall what happened from the start of the year.
it was my holidays after the a levels, basically i spent most of my time working and meeting up friends. oh february is my birthday month. my friends celebrated for me and i'm happy to have my loved ones around, but the actual day was terrible. perhaps the worst birthday i ever had. luckily my good friends made it better by surprising me at my door step, if not...it could have been much worst.
then i got my a level results. i deemed it as my biggest failure in life at that point of time (not now). i never expected myself to do well, but neither did i expect myself to get this kind of results. i thought i would be doing average, you know those kind that barely scraped through and still have a place in the local university. apparently no and it was kinda saddening. but there's a point i have to make. i never regretted choosing sajc. it was awesome. the days i spent there, the friendships fostered, the school spirit and stuffs....it was a new environment compared to swiss cottage, and somehow this change was good. i was very happy there. okay back to the point. i applied to all local unis, failed obviously, and last minute applied sim. it was a rush, but luckily i made it in time, and yes, i got in. uol economics and finance.
at the start of july i went for the uol orientation. i went with ws and zy, but apparently i went for the wrong one. met new people, didn't expect i would be hanging out with them pretty much. honestly i'm so glad that i went for the wrong orientation. at the later part of the july, i went hongkong and macau with my girls!! it was so fun, basically just 9 days of shopping and eating our hearts out, spamming cantonese, exploring new places, and taking lots of pretty pictures. one of the best memories i ever had.
school started at sim. met old friends, made new friends. hanged out with my group of og friends every tuesday after our lecture, and somehow we came out with themes to make our mundane school life a bit interesting. i'm very thankful to have this group of friends, you guys are great. i kinda like sim, maybe it's the right choice after all.
i have no idea how to bring my past relationship into any of the paragraphs. it was everywhere. i broke up, both parties were at fault. shouldn't say much actually, it's not very nice. i'm just really grateful to my friends who were there for me, i really appreciate it. i love you all.
talking about changes. i admit i've changed after the break up. i could do almost everything i want as long as i'm happy with it. my parents gave me lots of freedom, so basically being single i have nothing to care about. most people see the changes in my physical appearance and my recent activities. i know some people will have comments about me just by looking at my photos, superficial much? especially after the breakup, i guess they will be like: 'wah she so happy like nothing happened, she has changed so much, last time she not like that one...' like as if when i'm feeling down i have to mention it to the whole world. there are restrictions when in a relationship, perhaps breaking free from it makes me want to enjoy life even more.
sometimes i feel like a bitch. i've become more skeptical, i comment about people, but i think i'm just being straightforward. i've opened up, but at the same time i've learned to protect myself.
no matter what i've moved on, and i've become stronger and braver. i believe true friends will always be there for me.
happy new year everyone, 2011 will be better.
